![]() If you have passing (aux) lamps and you are going to re-aim them, you'll need a special tool. The smaller LED in my brother's Dyna is even worse. Where you actually need a light and the LED fails miserably on a motorcycle. My tests were done on a pitch black road with no moon. ![]() It really depends on how and where you ride. These things are not really noticeable where there are street lights or on most roads. With this light, it is impossible to "look through the turn" on pitch black roads that are winding or have a lot of changes in elevation. If you do and kind of wheelie (remember, I ride FXRs :woohoo: ) or really nail the throttle and the front ends points up, the road in front of you is black as that flat laser beam like array is pointing too far up. When nailing the front brake very hard and the bike points down, you lose some distance vision as the light points down. Straight ahead is still there but if the road changes in elevation, the flat laser beam like light hits the road and everything beyond is black. The right side of the flat laser beam like light shoots up in the sky and the right side or your field of vision is black. The left side of the flat laser beam like light hits the ground right in front of the bike and does not light up the left side of your field of vision out past a few feet. I come into a left hand turn very hard, and lean. I will use a left hand turn for explanation in this case. When leaning the bike hard into a turn, much of the light disappears. So bad that I may take the $525 light out. When on a very dark, winding, changing elevation road, the light is terrible. When the bike is upright, such as on the freeway, the light goes far and is a nice clear color. Picture one of those construction laser beams that throw a flat beam laser, not a point. The stock light in my year is useless so I upgraded to a halogen, which worked pretty well, especially on high beam. The light looks great in the bike and if you ride on the freeway or around town, it works great. My brother has the same light but smaller on his Dyna. It uses the larger Harley light, 7 inch I believe. I have the bike in Homesick's sig, an FXRT. I think how much you like the light depends on how and where you ride.
